Chairman’s Message

2026

The International Aviation Fire Protection Association (IAFPA) celebrated a landmark 25th anniversary in 2025, reaffirming our dedication to global aviation safety and excellence in fire protection.

From 7–9 October 2025, IAFPA, alongside the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), welcomed over 100 delegates from 22 countries to our special event in Singapore. This diverse attendance showcased the association’s worldwide impact and the collective spirit of aviation fire protection professionals.

The event’s success was built on the passion of many. Heartfelt thanks go to Mr. Tay Tiang Guan, Senior Advisor CAAS & SAA, John Trew, Gillies Crichton, Martinez Jacobs, Ajith Kumar, and Kim Olsen, whose dedication empowered both this anniversary and previous gatherings. Their commitment reflects the values at the heart of IAFPA.

Equally, the efforts of our behind-the-scenes team, guided by Bob Houchin and Zhong Min, have been instrumental. To our outstanding administrators, finance specialists, and the Chief AES with his team, and to partners at Changi Airport Group, Airservices Australia, Auckland Airport, Hawaii Airports, Malaysia Airports Berhad, and IFALPA Asia Pacific—thank you. Our industry partners’ ongoing support continues to be invaluable.

With 25 years of accomplishments, we are poised to meet future challenges and opportunities that will shape the next era of aviation fire safety.

IAFPA’s mission remains steadfast: to foster collaboration, enable professional growth, and set benchmarks that uplift safety throughout aviation.

As we embark on 2026, we invite greater participation from our members and partners. Let’s build upon this momentum through shared expertise and leadership, striving for new milestones together.

Thank you to our board, members, partners, and supporters for your trust and dedication.

Together, let us raise aviation fire protection standards and contribute to a safer aviation world.
